Can I or you change the world?

Can I make any difference to the world? Can I make a difference to my country? Can I at least change people and society around me? On numerous occasions we get ideas and plans to make a change around us ... for the better. In most cases, we have some of these questions or some very simple but logical doubts in our heads.

What if nobody else can change?

What difference does it make if I just change?

Well, I grew up with similar doubts that prevented me from making so many attempts to do great things in life until I read the following story, which changed my entire thinking process.

We talk about corruption, cleanliness around us, traffic rules or anything else we want should be corrected right away. However, what prevents us from causing this change in society are some of the above questions and doubts.

I have a completely different belief system now. If you ask me now, it does not really matter if someone else is willing to change or not, or someone else will change or not, or if you could make a difference in your society, your country, or the world Not. Yes, that does not matter. What matters is what you do !!

Let me try to explain this concept through a short story that triggered the change in me some time ago.

There was a house in a village that unfortunately caught fire. The fire very quickly became very violent because of the strong winds and the flammable material from which the house was made. When the villagers gathered and planned to take some steps to extinguish the fire, nearly half of the house was already gutted. In such a remote village, there was no way to call a fire department. The only hope was if some villagers would try to fetch water and pour it into the house. But it all seemed too late. There were some who were still trying to get some buckets of water from the nearby well, but it was just not good enough to significantly affect the deadly fire that had flooded nearly the entire house. The situation was hopeless. Most of the villagers were now "onlookers" and had given up any hope of saving the house.

Suddenly someone spotted a small bird that flew up in the house and poured a few drops of water into the house. The bird flew back, letting its beak fill with water from the nearby pond, came back and threw it on top of the house. It did it again and tried to make it as fast as possible. The people who gathered around the house and saw the bird doing this strange thing asked the bird an obvious question: "Do you think if you do what you do, will you somehow affect the fire?" The bird ignored the question and kept trying. After 30 minutes, when the location of the house under fire was hopeless and the bird was still trying, people asked the seemingly "stupid" bird: "Look, your efforts will not bring any result." They like it very much. to try, you are wasting your time and energy. "

The bird stopped for a minute and answered everyone: "It does not matter if my effort will deliver the desired results, it does not matter if I can extinguish the fire or not, I do not know if I can save everything in this house It does not matter what the end result will be, I do not even think about it. "When people heard that answer from the bird, they were confused. I mean, if the end result does not matter, what's the point of making such an effort. They once again asked the bird, "If it does not matter if your efforts erase the fire or not, why are you trying so hard?"

The bird stopped again and calmly replied to all viewers: "If the story were written and someone ever read this incident, there would be three categories of beings that would be talked about -" First, those who have lit the bird, Second, those who watched the fire and others who tried to extinguish the fire. I do not want to be counted in the first two categories. "The villagers were stunned by the reaction.

This story is not about the end result. It's about the intention, the effort and the thought process. I was amazed at the thought of the bird. It's so important that you value yourself, and to do that you must strive to do the right thing without worrying about the end result, or whether it will make a difference in the end.

Mahatma Gandhi once said: "Satisfaction is in the effort, not in achievement, full effort is full of victory."

So go on, chase your dreams and goals. Live it while you have energy in your body and before your time runs out. Do not hesitate. In the end, it does not matter if you can reach them or not. What is important is that you have made a serious effort. At the end of your life, this effort to try will give you immense satisfaction.
